About me

Hi, my name is Mitchel and I am an aspiring game developer. I am in my first year at the University of Portsmouth and I am Studying Computer Games Technology (BSc). Within this course I hope to get better in all aspects of becoming a games developer. However, I am mostly interested in becoming a 3D model artist and doing animations.

At university I have been engaging with other students from all across the country that have the same passion as myself; to be able to take in the knowledge of not only the job role that I seek to fulfill but, to also be able to take in the knowledge that others have come to learn, such as programming for example so that we will have some sort of knowledge of what those roles entail.

I have always been a gamer for as long as I can remember, starting as young as 3/4 years old, owning a PS1 console playing all sorts of games that were released at the time. Then, shortly moving onto the PS2 a couple of years later to then also owning a GameBoy, Nintendo DS's, PS3 and so forth which, has brought forth the gamer I am now. However, even as a young child I had always been intrigued by how video games were made and what it actually takes to create such incredible creations! To be able to look at something in real life and to virtualise whatever that may be into a computer, to then tweak that however the developer sees fit is just amazing!

Unlike a lot of people I knew, I was interested subjects such as maths and Physics to see what kind of thought process developers have to have to be able to understand how to be able to virtualise even the simplest of movements and astronomy that we as humans do on a daily basis. Not only that but before I was to leave my high school for college, I had approached my Principle to suggest if it were possible to implement a Game Development course into their Sixth Form as a choice to study as well as Computer science which, after a short time was done! Resulting in me staying at the same school for Sixth Form instead of going to college which, was a success for others as well as myself. In addition to understand more about myself and my education, my CV is available upon request by E-mailing me at Mitch-Taylor-2009@hotmail.co.uk.
